Bill has a history with conventional guitars and carpentry. He was gifted a Cigar Box Guitar in 2019 by his wife, and a hobby was born.

Bill customizes used cigar boxes from local tobacco stores and wood from area lumber yards. He builds his own necks and fretboards, cutting the fret slots, installing the fret wire and installing fret marker inlays. He specializes in three string acoustic and electric CBGs with various levels of electronics installations. MGB Guitars is his prime source of components and valuable information.

Bill exhibits at cigar box and blues festivals along the Gulf coast. He also crafts cigar box basses and ukuleles.
